MedCentris Wound Healing Institute Opens in Leesville

Leesville, La. – MedCentris, a leader in advanced Wound Medicine, is proud to announce the opening of our Wound Healing Institute of Leesville located on 929 Verone Terrace, Leesville, Louisiana. It is currently open Monday through Friday from 8am – 5pm. As a private facility, it generally offers a lower co-pay than a hospital. The MedCentris Advanced Wound Healing Program provides specialized care to complex wound patients who have had difficulty healing. Typical patients undergo an advanced wound healing program designed to treat the underlying causes of their wounds, such as infection, malnutrition, and Peripheral Vascular Disease. Surgical procedures are performed at bedside, with an emphasis on minimizing pain and discomfort.

MedCentris’ Chief Executive Office, Dr. Shaun Carpenter, is the Medical Director of the Wound Healing Institute of Leesville. Dr. Carpenter is a nationally recognized expert in the specialty of Wound Medicine. He leads a team of over 40 wound specialist physicians and nurse practitioners throughout the southeast region of the United States. Dr. Carpenter has developed several patents for innovative wound healing devices and has authored multiple publications regarding the science of wound healing. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a Certified Wound Specialist. Dr. Carpenter has double Bachelors’ Degrees in Molecular/Cell Biology and English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the Medical Center of Louisiana at New Orleans (“Charity Hospital”) and has been in practice for over 15 years.

“We are incredibly thankful to be able to bring Wound Medicine to the Leesville area for patients and providers who have had trouble with complex, non-healing wounds,” said Dr. Shaun Carpenter, CEO of MedCentris.
