American Diabetes Association

If you didn’t know, in America diabetes is nearly an epidemic. In the Deep South, the statistics are even worse. More than 37 million Americans are living with diabetes, while about 25% do NOT know they even have it. As many of our patients suffer from chronic wounds due to diabetes, and the management of these wounds costs billions of dollars a year, we want to make a difference.

At MedCentris Wound Healing Institute, we believe in giving back. That’s why, in 2020, we chose the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as our charity of choice.

The ADA helps educate the public, research solutions, and provides aid and support to those effected by this disease, so we’ve decided to lend our support. As a healthcare organization that provides direct care to this vulnerable patient population, we know how important their needs are. We know that by working together, MedCentris can have a resounding impact on the fight against diabetes. We asked our current employees and brand-new hires to donate a portion of their paychecks to raise funds for ADA. We’ve already raised over $11,000 dollars with more to come.

For more information about ADA and the cause, visit the diabetes.org website.

Blood Drive

The last few years across the country, blood has been in short supply. Since the end of 2019, we’ve been fortunate enough to have many employees step up and participate in two blood drives at the home office. We’re indebted to them for their kindness and sense of community. Wanting to serve is just one small part of how we give back.

Food Drive

Tangi Food shelter. December 2021. More than 350 lbs. of food items were gathered of food items were gathered for a local food shelter who serves the communities near our home office.
