Dr. Shaun Carpenter, Chief Executive Officer of MedCentris, is a nationally recognized expert in the specialty of Wound Medicine. He leads a team of over 100 wound specialist physicians and nurse practitioners throughout the southeast region of the United States. Dr. Carpenter has developed patents for innovative wound healing devices and has authored multiple international publications regarding the science of wound healing. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a certified MedCentris Wound Specialist™. He is also board certified by the American Board of Wound Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Carpenter has Bachelors’ Degrees in both Molecular/Cell Biology and English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his Louisiana State University Emergency Medicine residency at the Medical Center of Louisiana at New Orleans (“Charity Hospital”) and has been in practice for over 20 years. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Tulane University School of Medicine in the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Todd P. Shaffett serves as the President of MedCentris. Mr. Shaffett earned his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Southeastern Louisiana University. He earned his MSN degree from the University of South Alabama and has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for more than 15 years. He is a certified MedCentris Wound Specialist™, a Fellow of the College of Clinical Wound Specialists® and has been treating wounds for more than 20 years. Mr. Shaffett's expertise is in strategic modeling for advanced wound healing programs across the healthcare continuum that achieve the greatest outcomes while providing the most cost-effective methods of delivery of care. He is an advocate for the advancement of education and training for NP’s and PA’s within the specialty of Wound Medicine.

Amanda Estapa ACNP-BC, CWS, FACCWS, DAPWCA, is the Chief Clinical Officer for MedCentris, LLC. Amanda earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2004. She is a certified MedCentris Wound Specialist™ and a Diplomat of the American Professional Wound Care Association®. Her experience includes years of trauma and surgical critical care prior to narrowing her practice to focus on Wound Medicine in 2010. She has worked throughout the continuum of care in the acute, long term, hyperbaric and outpatient wound care settings. Amanda’s passion for education on the management of complex wounds and patient advocacy has taken her to the national stage as a speaker to help bring awareness to the specialty of Wound Medicine.

 

Erika Watsey is the Chief Operating Officer for MedCentris. She is a certified Project Manager and Six Sigma Black Belt, with extensive experience in healthcare operations, administrative strategy, and revenue cycle performance across complex, multi-site organizations.

Originally from Fairfield, Iowa, Erika has grown alongside MedCentris, serving in key leadership roles including Senior Vice President of Administrative Operations, Executive Director, Director of Credentialing, Project Manager, and Revenue Cycle leadership. This progression has provided her with a comprehensive, ground-up understanding of healthcare operations with a specialized focus on wound medicine.

Throughout her career, Erika has developed deep expertise in healthcare operations, data analytics, and performance measurement, shaped in part by her work with Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) Accountable Care Organizations participating in value-based care initiatives. Her experience supporting ACO reporting, performance assessment, and data-driven decision-making has informed her deep understanding of value-based care and continues to influence MedCentris’ operational planning, financial performance, and growth strategy.

As Chief Operating Officer, Erika focuses on designing scalable operational infrastructure, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring that compliance, quality, and efficiency remain foundational as the organization grows. Her approach emphasizes disciplined execution and practical innovation, resulting in streamlined core processes, strengthened healthcare partnerships, and reinforced standards of operational excellence that support the consistent and integrity-driven delivery of evidence-guided wound medicine.

Guy Ranzino is the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations for MedCentris. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ranzino is a Registered Nurse. He graduated from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans. He has over 30 years as an experienced healthcare leader with a demonstrated history of roles in the Med-Surgical and Critical Care areas of East Jefferson General Hospital. Ranzino served over 20 years with Amedisys, a national leader in home health and hospice where he was positioned as an Area Vice President in both Operations and Business Development. His other leadership experiences include Chief Operating Officer for a Louisiana-based Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital and a Regional Clinical Administrator with MedCentris before accepting this role. Ranzino’s strengths include strong skills in Enterprise Healthcare Operations and Business Development Management, Corporate Structure Design and Team Building, Strategic Planning as well as Integrating Staff and Processes with Mergers and Acquisitions. He has served on various committees and boards throughout his extensive healthcare career and is a member of the American Nurses Association and Louisiana State Nurses Association.

Kelly is a native of the New Orleans area with over 30 years of progressive accounting and finance experience across multiple industries.

She holds a Master of Science Degree in Management from Troy University, Alabama and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from The University of New Orleans.

She began her accounting career at Sysco Food Services of New Orleans as a Staff Accountant before transitioning to healthcare with Universal Health Services, Inc. as a Senior Accountant and then on to HCA as an Accounting Manager for Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed an extensive tenure in the hospitality industry with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, as an Assistant Director of Finance, participating in numerous front- and back-of-the-house system migrations and completing hotel renovations including post-Hurricane Katrina recovery. She further expanded her accounting knowledge by joining a New Orleans law firm that specialized in Medical Malpractice and Environmental Law before returning to the Healthcare Industry.

Brennan Morris is the Vice President of Administrative Operations. Originally from Watson, Louisiana, she brings a progressive background in human resources leadership within the healthcare sector. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Master of Science in Leadership and Human Resources Development from Louisiana State University. In 2025, Brennan earned her SHRM-CP credential, further strengthening her expertise in strategic and compliant HR practices.

Brennan began her career at MedCentris in 2019 as a Business Development Executive Assistant. Her aptitude for organizational development and people operations led to her transition into the Human Resources Department, where she played an integral role in building scalable HR infrastructure to support clinical and corporate teams.

Brennan progressed into HR leadership roles, serving as Assistant Director before becoming Director of Human Resources in 2023. In these roles, she led strategic HR initiatives spanning talent acquisition, employee development, compliance, performance management, and HRIS optimization.

In her role on the executive team, Brennan shapes human resources strategy to foster strong leadership, efficient operations, and a resilient workforce. Her work is grounded in a commitment to empowering people and advancing MedCentris’ mission to provide exceptional care in wound medicine.

Jeffrey D. Jeter is the Chief Compliance Officer for MedCentris. He is a licensed attorney and has over 25 years’ experience in health care law and corporate compliance. He holds a juris doctorate degree and a master’s in public administration degree from Louisiana State University. He began his career serving as an Assistant Attorney General for the Louisiana Department of Justice where he prosecuted health care fraud and nursing home abuse throughout the state of Louisiana. During his tenure with the Louisiana Department of Justice, the agency was recognized by the Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as the top Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the nation. In addition, Jeffrey worked with the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units to develop training courses for use by health care fraud prosecutors and investigators and served as an instructor at both the Advanced Medicaid Fraud training course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the Louisiana Law Enforcement Commission’s officer training course. Jeffrey also drafted Louisiana’s criminal anti-kickback statute and testified before the legislature, which subsequently enacted the statute. He left the Department of Justice to become the Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Counsel for Amedisys, Inc., one of the nation’s largest, publicly-traded home health and hospice providers where he worked for 15 years. While at Amedisys, Jeffrey was responsible for overseeing the company’s corporate compliance and HIPAA compliance programs. In this role, he oversaw internal investigations, developed internal controls including automated compliance scorecards and performance metrics, oversaw the company’s medical director program, implemented several Corporate Integrity Agreements, and conducted compliance training for 14,000 employees in 400+ offices across the nation. Jeffrey left Amedisys in 2016 to join the law firm of Jones Walker, LLP, where he provided extensive health care advice and corporate legal services to a wide variety of health care providers, leaving in 2021 to now work directly with his primary client, MedCentris. Jeffrey is also a noted speaker on the topics of corporate compliance, health care fraud, leadership, and ethics.
