Our Model
of Care

At MedCentris, our goal is to heal the wounds of our patients in the shortest time possible so they can get back to living.

How do we do this? We have a patient-centered focus. And from the beginning, we have worked to deliver the best possible healthcare to our patients by employing the best clinicians.

Over the course of our company’s history, we’ve learned a thing or two about how to treat patients well.

Part of that is understanding how to be smart, efficient, insightful, and effective. While other companies in the wound care arena work in specific silos, i.e., in nursing homes or short-term acute care hospitals, we focus on the patient’s journey throughout the continuum of care. We employ the best and brightest to deliver outstanding care to our patients.

Origin Story

While treating the same patient, our Co-founders, CEO Shaun Carpenter, MD, and President Todd Shaffett, APRN, met by coincidence. They soon realized that their collaboration — a physician and a nurse practitioner – would benefit the industry by focusing on higher standards, new protocols and procedures, and the best training available. This became the impetus to form MedCentris.

We are primarily focused on training our clinicians to be the best at what they do.

Internally, we put any new provider through our rigorous MedCentris Wound Specialist™ program — an extensive educational course where we cover didactic and hands-on training including:

  • Ongoing periodic and annual QI/PI activities
  • Advanced Wound Management Expertise
  • Advanced Modalities in Wound Medicine
  • Care for all type of wounds on all types of patients
  • Collaboration with other care providers
We can treat patients in one of many privately run clinics, or through in-person, in-home visits as part of our Home to Heal™ (H2H) program. Additionally, our TeleWound® program enables us to oversee Wound Medicine remotely when a patient is unable to be transported to one of our locations due to extraneous factors. Each of our private clinics has a coordinating physician who acts as a medical director for that facility. We follow strict guidelines and protocols to ensure the best care for our patients.
